My art is inspired by the joy I experience in the beauty of God’s creation while taking hikes through the woods, adventuring in my jeep, getting out on the lakes, (and once in awhile, on a horse). When I’m out and about, I often take pictures of those moments. My hope is that I can capture the feeling I have and bring it back to life on canvas for the viewer to find a place of rest and refreshing. I set up my easel in my studio or on stage, where I have enjoyed painting alongside musicians during church services. Lately, I prefer painting outdoors-plein air.
I have had the opportunity to participate in workshops with master artists in Ashville, North Carolina River Arts District, and also loved visiting with master artists from Carmel, California while touring their galleries. I have collaborated with a group of artists at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts and have had fun leading artist development groups in Brainerd and Maple Grove, Minnesota this past year.
Recently, I was honored to win the people’s choice award for Grand View Lodge’s annual wine label competition sponsored by Minnesota Monthly magazine. Two of my paintings will be featured on more than 3000 bottles sold through 2015 at Grandview Lodge of Nisswa. In addition to the wine label competition, two other paintings were accepted for the members juried exhibit, displayed at the Laura H. Miles Gallery at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts in 2014.
Giclee reproductions and some originals are available for sale through this site and at local galleries.
